On Saturday, May 7th, the many voices of Columbus will join Harmony Project at Lower.com Field to sing as one, creating the largest pop-up chorus in Columbus history!
We all play a role in shaping our world and community into a kinder, more caring place. By honoring the humanity of one another and choosing kindness in our daily lives, we can develop deeper understanding and empathy for our neighbors whose experiences are different from our own. The Center for HumanKindness was created to help cultivate a culture of kindness alongside community members and partners like Harmony Project.
Harmony Project was launched in 2009 to bridge social and cultural divides by bringing people together around a common goal. From a community chorus to its prison arts program, Harmony Project focuses on connecting people through shared musical experiences. The only requirement to join this powerhouse chorus is volunteering in the community.
In the words of David Brown, founder and creative director of Harmony Project, "Working together, we are building a united community, connecting through the shared vision of a world where indifference is replaced with empathy, intolerance is replaced with kindness, and discord is replaced with harmony."
The Foundation’s Center for HumanKindness is excited to support Harmony Project’s week of service, culminating in the largest pop-up chorus in Columbus history, Finding Harmony!
Bring your outside voice to Lower.com Field on Saturday, May 7th, for the filming of the finale for a new reality show pilot from ABC Studios and John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Company. During the event, Brown will transform thousands of voices representing the diversity of our central Ohio region into a united chorus in a matter of minutes. No musical experience is required.
Today, Harmony Project released an additional 500 tickets to Finding Harmony! Be the first to register for these remaining seats at Lower.com Field and become part of Columbus history.
This week, Harmony Project’s chorus participants and community members are volunteering throughout the city painting murals, cleaning up neighborhoods, and helping with the concert. Volunteers are still needed immediately before the pop-up chorus on May 7 from 2:00-5:30 p.m.
