Music can open up new horizons for students, aiding them in their other studies and giving them an outlet for expression. It also can foster a lifelong and life-enriching interest.
Recognizing the enduring importance of music, David and Nanci Gobey have pledged a generous gift of $1.5 million to buy instruments and pay for other music-related expenses in Columbus City Schools. Their gift, made through a trust set up with the Columbus Foundation, even will allow Columbus high-school graduates who meet academic requirements to potentially keep the instrument they’ve been using during their school years.
