Mid-Ohio Foodbank led the with way with the largest number of individual gifts received
Columbus, OH (May 18, 2015)—The Columbus Foundation today named local nonprofit organizations that received the highest total donations during the 2015 Big Give—Community Shelter Board and The Ohio State University Foundation (from Pelotonia and OSU Libraries to Star House and Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens) received $919,966 and $1,149,480, respectively.
“What a huge shot in the arm this is to our valuable nonprofits and the work they do to help others and this community,” said Douglas F. Kridler, president and CEO of The Columbus Foundation.
The Big Give, a 24-hour online giving rally, began on May 12 and leveraged $15 million for 587 organizations providing a wide range of services in central Ohio. This included a $1.4 million bonus pool made possible by Foundation donors and community partners. Thanks to this pro rata bonus, all gifts were increased by 10.3 percent.
The Mid-Ohio Foodbank received 1,200 donations—the highest number of individual gifts by a significant measure—followed by WCBE 90.5 FM, which received 564 donations.
