TROY, OH (September 21, 2023)—As the Miami County YMCA wraps up its “The Time is Now to Build…” capital campaign, the trustees of the Paul G. Duke Foundation are honored to join hundreds of local businesses, organizations, and individuals in supporting construction of a state-of-the-art new facility in Piqua, Ohio. The new branch “…will be another gemstone adding to the dynamic transformation of our downtown,” said Steve Staley, chair of the campaign.
Rayce T. Robinson, president of the Duke Foundation, is “looking forward to the impact this project will have on the Piqua community for years (and maybe generations) to come.” The new facility will provide Piqua and Miami County with safe, secure spaces where local residents can develop healthy lifestyles while strengthening their social connections within the community. Fundraising continues for the final stage of the project, construction of a new parking area after the current facility is razed.
“The Miami County YMCA is extremely proud to have the Paul G. Duke Foundation in our corner”, said Jim McMaken, executive director of the Miami County YMCA.
Through this grant, the Duke Foundation’s board members are proud to be acting as catalysts to enhance the quality of life in the Miami County area. Mr. Staley said, “The Foundation’s generous pledge clearly exemplifies its mission of focusing on programs benefitting children, young adults, and families in Miami County”.
The Duke Foundation’s Board of Trustees encourages nonprofit organizations serving the Miami County area to apply for grants.
